A practical guide
How to write a short letter to God
Start here
Begin with a greeting and one honest sentence about what you are carrying. You can write a prayer as a letter without using a formal style.
Start with a simple address
Read Matthew 6:5–13. Jesus’ teaching includes sincere prayer, daily needs, and forgiveness. Let that passage guide your attention without treating a letter format as something the text requires.

Name your real situation
Try this original example: “God, I am unsure how to begin the conversation tomorrow. Help me listen and speak clearly.” Add one detail only if it helps you say what you mean. You do not need an impressive introduction.
Finish without forcing an answer
You can close with “Amen,” a question, or another sentence of prayer. Leave room for what you do not understand. Keep the letter somewhere you can return to, but do not feel required to solve the situation before you stop writing.
Common questions
Does the letter need to be long?
No. A few sincere sentences can be enough for this practice.
Must I write by hand?
No. Choose paper or a device according to what helps you focus and return to the practice.
