A practical guide
Write a gratitude note inspired by Proverbs 31:28–31
Start here
Notice how the poem names and honors the woman’s life. Then write one specific appreciation for someone whose care you have received.
Read the closing praise
Verses 28–31 describe her children and husband praising her and call for her work to be recognized. Notice that the praise follows a detailed portrait of what she does and values.

Name an actual moment
Choose a small event you remember. Instead of “You are amazing,” try “You stayed to help me finish clearing up, and I felt less alone with the task.” Use details that belong to that person and moment.
Offer appreciation without a request
Let the note stand on its own rather than attaching another favor. You can send it, say it aloud, or write it privately first. If praise embarrasses the person, keep the message simple and respect their preference.
Common questions
Must the note be for a family member?
The poem’s praise occurs in a family and community setting. This exercise applies the practice of specific appreciation more broadly.
Can I keep the note private?
Yes. Writing it can help you notice gratitude even if you decide not to send it.
